Budget Wedding = $????

September 8, 2006 No Comments

We talk about budget weddings but what qualifies as a budget wedding anyway?

Would a $50,000 wedding be considered a budget wedding? How about $25,000? $10,000? $5,000?

Where do you draw the line? Well we know that last year in the United States the average wedding cost well over $26,000.

Does the wedding need to cost less than the national average? . . . or can it be higher and still qualify as being called a budget wedding?

The other day, we saw someone telling about the wedding they planned for less than $10,000. For us, that seems like a huge budget since we spent less than $2,000 on the elegant wedding of our dreams. But if you think about it, a $10,000 wedding is considerably less than half the national average — very impressive!

What it boils down to is that wedding planning on a budget is not about the price tag but the method. The very act of consciously planning the wedding on a budget qualifies the wedding as being a “budget wedding.”
